Chef Limburg grew up making pizzas in his grandmother’s Italian restaurant as a young teen. What began as a means to stay out of trouble grew in to a passion and later a career.
His early moldings towards becoming a Chef navigated him in a path that would have him working with Chef Ed LaDou. Chef LaDou is one of the founders of the original California Pizza Kitchen and the creator of CPK’s first ever menu. He is best known as being one of the pioneers of gourmet pizza making in America.
Chef Limburg also went on to work at Wolfgang Puck’s Bar and Grill in Los Angeles. A high profile kitchen where Chef Limburg progressed from a pizza maker to Sous Chef. He took a roots up approach to learning the ins and outs of what it takes to move up the ladder in a top level restaurant. More recently he was the Executive Chef of Sohill Cafe where they were mentioned as one of Top Ten new Restaurants in San Antonio 2019, and San Antonio’s Best of the City 2020, where Sohill Café won in the category of best excuse for a mid week pizza. This is all due in part to Chef Limburg and his team’s hard work, attention to detail, and tenacious aspirations to make the customer always leave happy.
Now with Stone Bros, Chef Limburg has ventured out in search of something for his own knowing there is a market for a well made wood fire pizza in the Alamo City.
We named her Bella!
Why? She is a Forno Bravo Bella Wood Fire Oven, finely crafted on a custom trailer made from our friends in Canada.
